Kingstown, September 23, 2025 — Big move for Vincentians! Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is officially joining Barbados, Belize and Dominica in rolling out full free movement across these CARICOM Member States beginning October 1, 2025.
What does this mean for you? Vincentians will soon be able to enter, leave, re-enter, live, work and stay indefinitely in any of these participating countries—no work permit or residency permit needed.
You’ll also have access—within each host country’s capacity—to emergency and primary health care, plus public primary and secondary education. It’s basically leveling up the benefits already available under the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME), and these perks will apply to all CARICOM nationals from the four participating countries.
This milestone decision came out of the 49th Regular CARICOM Heads of Government Meeting earlier this year. CARICOM explains that this arrangement fits into the Enhanced Cooperation Chapter of the Revised Treaty of Chaguaramas, allowing at least three Member States to fast-track integration goals when the broader community isn’t moving quickly enough.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Consumer Affairs has assured that it’s working hand-in-hand with CARICOM so that when October 1 hits, all systems are ready for a smooth start.
